New Orleans was pulled from hosting WrestleMania 42 next year in April

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans will no longer serve as the host city for WrestleMania 42, city tourism officials confirmed in a statement on Thursday, May 22.
World Wrestling Entertainment announced earlier this year that its flagship event, WrestleMania, was scheduled to take place at the Caesars Superdome in April 2026. WWE legend Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson revealed the news this past February during a live episode of WWE SmackDown at the Smoothie King Center.
This would have marked the third time the event was hosted in the Big Easy, as it had previously taken place in 2014 and 2018. The shows drew record-breaking fanfare and generated a combined economic impact exceeding $300 million.
Although no new dates and locations have been announced, according to Fox 8, city officials stated that WrestleMania will still be held in New Orleans at a later date, and it will also host the Money in the Bank premium live event in 2026.
"The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership through a multi-event, multi-year agreement,” the Greater New Orleans Foundation said in a joint statement. “This will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania — which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year. We look forward to sharing more event details in the coming months."
